Employment

Staff Machine Learning Scientist
VideaHealth · Videa · Boston, MA
2025 – present

Staff Tech Lead Data Scientist, Clinical
WHOOP · Boston, MA
2023 – 2025
Lead Data Scientist on a 510(k) submission for a PPG-based AFib detection device — responsible for algorithm design, verification, and validation. Author of the specifications, plans, protocols, and reports that make up the design history file.
Other roles held: Senior Data Scientist, Clinical

Senior Data Scientist
VideaHealth · Boston, MA
2020 – 2023
Built deep-learning AI models for detection and classification of dental pathologies and anatomical keypoints on X-rays, plus detection and removal of ePHI from X-rays and documents. Lead Data Scientist on two cleared 510(k) submissions to the FDA (K213795, K223296) and biostatistical / technical consultant on a third (under review). Designed evaluation frameworks and supporting studies; authored protocols and reports for the design history file. Led the division’s “scalability initiatives,” building processes and tooling across the ML pipeline — data selection, annotation, model-building, evaluation, serving — to lift efficiency and quality.
Other roles held: Data Scientist

Data Science Fellow
Insight Post-Doctoral Fellowship · Boston, MA
Summer 2020
Developed a web service to predict when critically ill patients would need life-saving medication. Insight is a selective post-doctoral training fellowship bridging academia and industry.

Graduate Researcher & Teaching Fellow
Yale University · New Haven, CT
2012 – 2020
Pioneered a novel theory of absorbing and reflectionless optical scattering phenomena, then translated those theoretical insights into a design for a unidirectional absorbing device — verified numerically and with proposed experiments. Author or co-author of six publications in top journals including Science, PNAS, and Physical Review Letters (see publications). Co-led a study on the gender gap in the Physics department’s qualifying exam that produced two new programs for incoming students and a complete overhaul of the exam itself.

Staff Scientist, Acoustics and Electromagnetics Group
JHU/APL · The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory · Laurel, MD
2009 – 2012
Numerical modeling of acoustic environments for US Navy programs. Spearheaded a feasibility study to enhance sonar coverage of national security assets; briefings to program managers and government sponsors led to additional funding for follow-up studies.
